Born to a family of mages but branded a failure, Alvin Godfrey entered Kimberly Magic Academy unsure of himself. Incapable of properly casting a single spell, he was mocked by his peers. Yet he faced the darkness of Kimberly, made friends, harnessed his immense firepower—and in time became student body president. Set five years before the events of Reign of the Seven Spellblades, this is a scorching account of how Godfrey earned his famous nickname: Purgatory! (Source: Yen Press)
