Lucia

About this character

Lucia is the proprietor of the Zoogle Antique Bookshop and a member of the Bookman Clan. In this role, she pays people to hear their stories and record them. Like many in the Bookman Clan, she is concerned about the fate of the previous Bookman Junior. Appearance Lucia is a woman with short, straight, lightly-coloured hair. She wears a collared dress, accompanied by a dark headband and large, round glasses. As a child, she had freckles.
In her introduction, Lucia is shown as a child at the present Campbell Mansion. She is accompanied by Ur-Canpy and rushes to Joe to inform her that Bookman has regained consciousness and is in terrible pain. However, when Allen and company meet her later at the Zoogle Antique Bookshop, she appears as an adult.
Personality Lucia is portrayed as intelligent and playful, but ultimately unreadable. She frequently switches between a serious, solemn expression and a smiling, jovial tone—even when discussing grave matters.
Lucia displays cruelty and coldness when dealing with matters important to the Bookman Clan. She accuses Allen of having stolen the previous Bookman Junior and attempts to guilt-trip him into drinking a poison that would sacrifice his life in exchange for regaining lost memories containing information the Bookman Clan seeks. She is shown giving a creepy smile when handing Allen the poison.
Trivia Lucia's hobby is reading. She likes reading, Joe, and Ur-Canpy. She dislikes Naga's mimicry. Any kind of book is a necessity for Lucia. (Sources: D.Gray-Man Official Fanbook Gray Log, Page 184. D.Gray-Man Chapters 222, 251)
